It's never too late to begin again! I'm a firm believer that we should never waste a mistake. And we all make them! It is possible to grow and learn from our past choices and to create a new way of thinking. With a growth mindset, the right team and encouragement, anything is possible. Life is too short to settle! - Amie Adams

Hi, I'm Amie Adams,
Founder/CEO of Grace Glen Wellness.
This is my Story
Moving around a lot as a child, I learned to gain acceptance by being an overachiever at school. I was the one everyone came to for a listening ear, and this led me to grad school to become a therapist, and then to go into management, leading to years of overworking, and eventually taking on a role as a C-suite executive in behavioral health. While I loved the challenges at first, when I added full time caregiving for my mom, who had dementia, I started to realize that I was not making my own list.
Perfectionism at work, pressure to care for others was leaving me out of my own priorities. I had always struggled with weight, but the pandemic and the new responsibilities combined and I knew something had to change. I heaped pressure on myself-- I could write books on how to lose weight. I "knew" lots of facts about how things should be. Having such a visible problem was a source of shame, and I hadn't asked for help because I felt like I should be able to figure it out on my own.
Once I finally asked for help, I found not only medical tools (GLP-1s), but a whole community of people, and a whole lot of science to help me. Coaching was a huge piece of my success,. I have been able to lose over 100 pounds, find my confidence again, and physically do all the things I want to do! Coaching continues to play a role as I am still growing and transforming, and will be until the day I die.
I love encouraging others, creating plans to help them be accountable to themselves and problem solving to help find solutions. There is no magic formula, but I transitioned to coaching to help others find what works for them. Success is a very empowering thing and I learned that small changes, only things I was willing to live with for the rest of my life were the things that had always been missing from my "on and off diets" approach of the past.
I would be honored to help you with your goals, health related, or otherwise, to be able to pass on the joy I have received from finally allowing myself to ask for help!
